A subsidiary of Let's Talk About It...The Autism Center, Autism in Color is an educational firm specializing in HR consulting, corporate training, and ASD advocacy. 

Our Mission: Autism in Color exists to reduce misconceptions related to ASD while increasing awareness and advocacy for persons with autism. Through strategic partnerships and high quality educational programs, Autism in Color is facilitating access to opportunity and an abundant life for persons with ASD.

Founder + CEO

  La Becky Roe, MS  

An experienced educator and passionate visionary, La Becky Roe, leads strategic partnerships for Autism in Color. With over 20 years of subject matter expertise, La Becky applies best practices and leverages personal experience for a high value and comprehensive offering.

 

As the parent of a child diagnosed with ASD, La Becky’s work is fueled by a genuine desire to reduce mental health misconceptions while increasing awareness and advocacy for persons with autism. 

 

La Becky holds a post graduate certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder Across the Lifespan and a Master of Science in Education, Criminal Justice & Human Services with a Concentration in Applied Behavioral Analysis and Crime Prevention. She has received support from the City of Charlotte, and her community partnerships include Mecklenburg County and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) among others. 

Director of Education + Presenter

 Chavon Robinson, LCSW-C, MSEd 

Chavon M. Robinson is a licensed clinical social worker with over 18 years of mental health and counseling experience.  With extensive expertise in mental and emotional development, Chavon leads Autism in Color’s corporate training and education initiatives. Her insights contribute to high-quality curriculums and a comprehensive course offering.

 

An alumnus of the University of New York at Brooklyn College, Chavon has earned a Bachelor of Psychology degree in addition to a Master of Social Work and a Master of Education degree from Columbia University School of Social Work and Bank Street College of Education.

 

Chavon is committed to the promotion of spiritual, emotional, and mental health in the communities she serves, and her passion is evident in her contributions to Autism in Color.

Director of Information Technology

 Alvina Johnson, BS  

Alvina Johnson is an experienced technology solutions professional who manages Autism in  Color's digital learning tools and communication. An alumnus of the University of South Carolina, Alvina holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems.  

 

With extensive project management and business administration expertise, Alvina employs technology to enhance operational efficiency at Autism in Color.

Alvina embraces life and strives to put a smile on the face of everyone she meets, hoping to share a word or deed to lead them to believe that their best is yet to come and they are “Blessed to be a blessing".
